🦙 From The Andes has been curating rare finds since 1987, family-run in Taos, New Mexico.
Created by Taos Valley artist and minister Pablo Flores (born in Alamosa, Colorado and raised in Des Montes, New Mexico, just north of Taos), this collection was conceived during a cross country road journey in March 2012. Flores gathered cast off wood, metal, farm parts, and roadside remnants from small towns and back roads across the United States, then transformed them by hand into one of a kind wall pieces and cross sculptures.
The method is the message. Materials that once worked, weathered, and were abandoned are restored into forms that speak to resilience. Each piece holds the marks of its former life and the history of the place it came from. Flores does not imitate local iconography. He honors the land and the journey by allowing material truth to remain visible.
Expect reclaimed barn wood, license plate fragments, hinges, gears, tin, leather, and found hardware. Surfaces show real age and use. Nothing is artificially distressed. Each cross measures approximately 7 to 8 inches tall, making them ideal for intimate wall display, altars, or small architectural niches.
