Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about From The Andes, including sourcing, product authenticity, shipping, returns, and how our collection is structured.

What is From The Andes?

From The Andes is a curated online destination for alpaca apparel and global artifacts. Our collection brings together handcrafted and small-batch pieces selected for material quality, cultural character, and long-term value.

What do you sell?

We offer alpaca apparel alongside curated global artifacts. The assortment includes pieces chosen for craftsmanship, distinctive design, and a more limited inventory model than mass-market retail.

How do you source your products?

We source directly from artisans. That direct model supports authenticity, quality control, and a more intentional product mix.

Are your items handmade?

Our products are presented as handcrafted and small-batch. As a result, natural variation and individual character are part of the collection.

Will I receive the exact item shown?

Yes. For one-of-a-kind and individually listed pieces, you will receive the exact item shown on the product page.

Do you restock sold-out items?

No. When a product sells out, it is permanently gone. Many pieces in the collection are limited and not repeat-stock items.

Why are your prices higher than typical online stores?

Premium pricing reflects craftsmanship and sourcing. It also reflects the fact that many pieces are handcrafted, small-batch, directly sourced, and not positioned as disposable goods.

Where do you ship from?

Orders ship from Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We offer shipping worldwide. Customers outside the United States are responsible for any import duties, VAT, customs fees, and local taxes that may apply.

How quickly do orders ship?

Orders typically ship within 1 business day. Orders placed after 12 PM MST, or on weekends or holidays, ship the next business day.

Which carriers do you use?

Orders ship via USPS or UPS, depending on destination, order size, and value. All orders include tracking, which is sent automatically to the email address provided at checkout.

Will Canadian orders face duties or tariffs?

Yes. Canadian customers are responsible for GST, HST, PST, customs brokerage fees, and any other applicable import charges collected by the carrier. These charges are not refundable by From The Andes.

What is your return policy?

Standard contemporary apparel may be returned or exchanged within 30 days of the shipment date. Limited-edition pieces, artifacts, and vlad.œuvre limited editions must be returned or exchanged within 7 days of the shipment date.

To be accepted, merchandise must be unworn, unwashed, and in its original resalable condition with all tags and packaging.

Do you offer gift packaging?

No. Gift packaging is not currently available.

Why is your inventory limited?

Our inventory is limited because we focus on direct artisan sourcing, handcrafted and small-batch production, and a more selective approach to what enters the collection.

Are your pieces mass-produced?

No. The collection is built around handcrafted and small-batch production rather than mass-market scale.

Why shop From The Andes instead of a larger marketplace?

From The Andes is built around direct sourcing, exact-item transparency for one-of-a-kind pieces, limited inventory, and a curated mix that prioritizes craftsmanship and character over volume.
