Top FAQs Answered 🌟 frequently asked questions
Will I receive the exact item shown?
If a product is listed as one-of-one, vintage, a unique specimen, or the exact piece photographed, that is the piece you will receive. Repeatable apparel and multi-unit products may use representative photography and will match the purchased style, size, color, and listed specifications.
Are all your items handmade?
No. Many pieces are handmade, hand-knit, handwoven, carved, assembled, or produced in small quantities. Others are commercially produced. We state the material, construction, maker, origin, and technique on the individual product page when those facts are known.
Do you restock sold-out items?
Sometimes. Core apparel and repeatable merchandise may return when available. One-of-one, vintage, limited, and unusually sourced pieces often do not. If inventory says one, there may really be only one.
What determines the price of a piece?
We consider material, fiber content where applicable, construction, finishing, origin, workmanship, production quantity, condition, and the finished piece itself. Price makes sense only after you know what you are comparing.
What is your return policy?
Standard contemporary apparel has a 30-day return or exchange window from shipment. Certain limited-edition pieces, artifacts, and vlad.œuvre limited editions have a 7-day window from shipment.
Returns require prior authorization, and merchandise must meet the condition requirements in our Refund Policy.
Where does my order ship from, and how quickly?
Orders ship from Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico, and typically leave within one business day. Orders placed after 12 PM Mountain Time, or on weekends or holidays, generally ship the following business day. We use USPS or UPS and provide tracking.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, to eligible destinations. International orders are handled through Shopify Managed Markets / Global-e. Product eligibility, shipping services, duties, and taxes vary by destination and are determined at checkout.
Alpaca benefits
Alpaca never went mainstream because most clothing is not meant to last.
Unlike traditional wool, alpaca contains no lanolin or oils. It is safe for sensitive skin and will not cause the "wool itch."
Utilizing semi-hollow fibers, alpaca traps heat in the cold but remains breathable in warmer transition weather. It is 3x warmer than sheep's wool at a fraction of the weight.
Naturally antimicrobial and odor-resistant. It requires fewer washes than synthetics or cotton. Simply air it out to refresh.
High tensile strength ensures the garment retains its shape and resists pilling, outlasting cashmere as a long-term wardrobe staple.
Alpacas are gentle grazers with padded feet that protect the Andean terrain. Sustainably shorn once per year in a process that supports traditional heritage.
