Men’s Alpaca Sweaters
Warm. Refined. Timeless.
A good sweater should make getting dressed easier. Natural alpaca gives you warmth without relying on synthetic fleece, while a classic cut gives you the composed, gentlemanly look that works with trousers, denim, a collared shirt, or simply on its own.
These are not pieces built around a season or a trend. They are sweaters a man can return to year after year: understated, substantial, and easy to wear well.
100% alpaca fiber. No polyester or acrylic in the fiber content.Typically ships within 1 business day from New Mexico. 30-day returns on all products.
The opposite of fast fashion
Buy well. Dress well. Keep it.

The opposite of fast fashion is not more fashion. It is fewer, better pieces chosen for material, usefulness and staying power. A good sweater earns its place by being easy to wear, easy to return to, and worth caring for.
Cardigans
Put together without the jacket. For the man who wants to look composed without dressing formally. A cardigan handles changing temperatures, layers easily over a shirt or tee, and gives an ordinary outfit structure without making it feel dressed up.

Confidence before purchase
Good clothing should come with clear terms.
The product matters, but so does what happens after you order it. These are the practical details worth knowing before you choose.
Six questions worth asking
Before you buy an alpaca sweater.
1. Is alpaca warmer than wool?
Alpaca is valued for excellent insulation, but no sweater is automatically warmer simply because of the fiber name. Warmth also depends on yarn structure, knit density, garment weight and construction. What alpaca offers here is natural-fiber warmth in a classic menswear silhouette.
2. How should an alpaca sweater fit?
Start with the measurements and fit information on the individual product page. The cardigans, crewnecks and polo sweaters do not all fit identically. If you are between sizes, contact us for garment measurements before ordering.
3. How do I wash and store it?
Follow the care instructions on the specific product page and garment label. In general, alpaca knitwear should be protected from unnecessary heat and agitation and stored folded rather than hung to help preserve its shape. Make sure the garment is fully dry before storage.
4. Does it contain polyester or acrylic?
The current cardigans, crewnecks and polo sweaters in this collection are listed as 100% alpaca, with no polyester or acrylic in the fiber content. Check the individual product page for the exact composition of the garment you are buying.
5. How quickly will my order ship?
Orders typically ship within 1 business day from Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico. Orders placed after 12 PM Mountain Time typically ship the following business day, and weekend or holiday orders typically ship the next business day. Tracking is provided. Handling time is separate from carrier transit time. See the shipping policy for complete terms.
6. What if the size isn’t right?
All products may be returned or exchanged within 30 calendar days after delivery with prior authorization. Approved U.S. returns receive a prepaid return shipping label paid by From The Andes. Merchandise must be unworn, unwashed, unused and in original condition with tags and included materials. Scented, soiled, damaged, altered, worn or washed items are not accepted. See the return policy for complete terms.
Longer wear starts with care
Protect the shape and fiber.
Read care tips
Good knitwear is not disposable. Follow the care instructions on the product page and garment label, avoid unnecessary heat and agitation, and store substantial sweaters folded so the shoulders do not stretch.
Care is part of the point: choose a piece worth keeping, then treat it like something you intend to keep.
