What Makes Aguayo Special?

Aguayo is more than a colorful pattern. Known as awayu in Aymara, it belongs to a longstanding Andean textile tradition.

For generations, these woven textiles have been part of everyday life in the Andes, traditionally used to carry children, food, belongings and other essentials. Their distinctive bands of color, woven construction and regional variations are part of a living textile tradition that continues today.

This cap gives Aguayo a new form. The textile runs through the crown and brim, allowing the fabric itself to define the character of the cap rather than simply decorating it.

Not inspired by history. Made from it.

Size & Fit

One Size, Stretch Fit

Designed to fit head circumferences of approximately 57–60 cm / 22.4–23.6 in. The elasticized inner band allows the cap to adjust comfortably within that range while maintaining its close-fitting duckbill profile.

How to Measure

Wrap a soft measuring tape around your head where the cap will naturally sit, across the forehead and just above the ears. Keep the tape comfortably snug without pulling it tight. Compare your measurement with the 57–60 cm fit range above.

A Textile With a Past. A Cap Made for Now.

The duckbill silhouette is contemporary. Aguayo is not. Bringing the two together creates a cap that carries the color, texture and historical richness of an Andean textile tradition into a modern everyday form.

Made by Humans. Shaped by History.
